Find A Lost Friend

Over the years our lives take small twists and turns and ups and downs -and before long, those small changes, leave us far away and out of touch with the larger percentage of our old friends. And its not uncommon for us to completely lose all forms of contact -as there lives also take there own twists and turns as well.
But what about when we decide that we want to get back in touch with them and possibly re-connect?
How is this possible? We cant just look in the phone book - chances are they dont live in the same house anymore - and phone numbers change -actually, because of Cell phones. its harder than ever to just look someone up in the phone book.
But there are other ways to discover the where-abouts of these old friends.
Step 1- Try Google
It never hurts to try the ultimate search engine -Google. Go to the "Google" search engine page and type your friends name in the search bar. You will be surprised at what you might find -if they have started there own blog or if they have ever written any online articles or have a website -you might get lucky.
And dontĀ stop with just there name -you might want to try typing in there maiden name if its a girl -or try to add some other keywords that would single them out - like there parents names or the old high school.
Step 2 - YOU Can Start a Blog
You know, chances are that others may be searching for YOU too! And a VERY easy thing for you to do, is start your blog. There are FREE blog sites, Like Blog Spot or Wordpress -Blogspot is easier to set up -but Wordpress is a favorite of mine.
What you want to do, is name the blog after yourself -like http://johndoe.blogspot.com orĀ http://johndoesblog.wordpress.com.
Chances are , if your name is popular, that your name might be taken -thats OK -you can add some numbers or something more descriptive about yourself -like http://johndoefromIdaho.blogspot.com.
This way, when your old friends look for you, there is a MUCH better chance that your name and blog will be listed on the first page of Google. Especially if you use descriptive words in your blogs name -try to think about what your friends might type in when searching for you.
Step 3 - Search Social Sites
This one is definitely a good one. If you havnt already -you should sign up for social sites, like
Just to name a few -and the most popular.
And if you have already made an account on 1 or 2 of these -go ahead and make accounts for ALL of them. You never know if your old friends will be signed up for one of these accounts.
Another great reasons for using the Social Sites, is because there are ALWAYS going to be old friends from High School that will get in touch with you. And maybe one of them will no where your old friends is at where you can look to find them.
Step 4 - People Searches
O.K. - If the steps do not work - or if you dont want to wait for something to happen, there is always the People Search websites.
What these sites will do for you, is go through ALL public files and documents -like the ones we would never be able to find -and provide you with the exact information for your friends name. All you do is enter the friends name -and if you have other info, like high school, or State or anything else that might come up in official documents.
They arent FREE -but they usually do not cost more than $10-$15.
But you will gain INSTANT ACCESS to your Friends Information you want without having to do anything else. Its really just the simple fact of life with this one, which is -Time or Money.
You decide which one is for you. But either way -I wish you the best of luck finding those lost friends. Trust me, they are just as interested and excited about hearing from you as you are about finding them.
I hope that this information was helpful -and have fun on your search!
